Budget carrier Wizz Air will resume flights from Abu Dhabi’s Zayed International Airport and Dubai International (DXB) on October 25, bringing back direct connections to several European cities ahead of the winter travel season.
“Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Jeddah and Amman are coming back with 12 routes and 49 weekly flights,” the airline said in an Instagram post on Wednesday.
The airline will restart its UAE services to Katowice in Poland, Budapest in Hungary, and Bucharest in Romania on October 25.
Flights to Sofia in Bulgaria, Larnaca in Cyprus and Cluj in Romania will follow on October 27, Wizz Air’s booking website shows.
The routes will be operated by Wizz Air’s European entities rather than a locally based Abu Dhabi airline.
The airline had exited its Abu Dhabi operations in September last year. The return of the routes will restore direct connections between the UAE and several European destinations ahead of the winter travel season.
Fares displayed on Wizz Air’s website for the resumed routes start at around Dh114 for one-way flights, depending on the destination and travel date. The prices exclude additional services and are subject to change.
