ABU DHABI (ALETIHAD)

Binance will begin offering options on more than 1,000 selected US stocks and exchange-traded funds through Nest Trading Limited, its broker-dealer regulated by Abu Dhabi Global Market, the company said in a statement.

Nest Trading will act as the introducing broker and route orders to Alpaca Securities, a US-registered broker-dealer, for execution, clearing, settlement and custody.

Stock options give buyers the right, but not the obligation, to buy or sell an underlying security at a specified price on or before an expiry date. Users pay a premium to acquire that right, but the options do not represent ownership of the underlying securities.

The new service builds on Binance’s existing US equities offering, which provides access to more than 7,000 stocks and ETFs through Nest Trading’s partnership with Alpaca. Binance users can also access tokenised securities and equity-linked perpetual futures through the platform.

The products will not be available to users in the US and will be offered only to eligible users in permitted jurisdictions, the statement said.

“Stock options are an important next step in Binance’s evolution into a fuller multi-asset platform,” said Shunyet Jan, Head of Exchange and Trading at Binance.

“By adding options on selected US stocks and ETFs, we are expanding the tools available to users who want to participate in equity markets, manage exposure and access strategies that have historically been offered through traditional brokers — all from one Binance account.”

The company said users in emerging markets accounted for more than 80% of direct stock-trading volume during the first week of the launch of its equities offering.

Trading volume in traditional financial perpetual futures on Binance reached about $433.4 billion in August 2026, around 15 times the $29.5 billion recorded in January.

Equity-linked perpetual futures represented about 79% of the platform’s traditional financial perpetuals activity in August. Their trading volume reached approximately $342.9 billion, compared with $410.9 million in January.

The stock options will be physically settled, meaning users exercising an option will receive or deliver shares in the underlying US-listed stock or ETF. The shares will be held by Alpaca on behalf of Binance users.

Exercise requests can be submitted up to 30 minutes before expiry. Options that are in the money at expiry will not be exercised automatically unless the user has submitted an exercise instruction. Positions for which no instruction is submitted will be subject to attempted sale before the market closes and could expire without value.

Eligible retail users will initially be able to buy call and put options, limiting their maximum potential loss to the premium paid, according to the statement. The options can be used to take a view on market movements, hedge existing positions or manage exposure.

Fees will primarily be paid in USDC, with support for BNB, USDT, USD1 and $U, subject to availability.

Most US stock options trade between 9.30am and 4pm US Eastern Time. Certain ETF and exchange-traded note options may continue trading until 4.15pm. Binance said it expected to add more stock-option listings over time.

The company said it would maintain onboarding procedures, compliance controls, educational material and risk disclosures in line with its ADGM-regulated operations.
