Dubai is set to host the virtual tourism summit “Engage by Elevate” on June 2 as the UAE and the wider Middle East prepare for a recovery in tourism activity, according to a statement issued by Elevate World.

The company said the three-day event will bring together more than 250 hotels and destination partners with international tour operators and travel agencies through a programme of pre-scheduled one-to-one meetings, destination updates and industry sessions.

According to the statement, the summit is being organised as a closed-group forum for senior travel trade professionals to reconnect and discuss tourism opportunities in the region.

Elevate World said preparations for the return of tourism in the region were already advanced, with new initiatives being developed to rebuild consumer confidence and re-engage travellers. The company said invited participants would receive early access to destination plans before they are made more widely available.

The statement said the virtual format would allow buyers to pre-select meetings with hotels, tourism boards and attractions through scheduled one-to-one sessions, while removing the need for travel and reducing time commitments for participants.

According to the company, destination partners participating in the summit include Wynn Al Marjan Island, Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism, Abu Dhabi Tourism, Miral and Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development.

The statement said the programme would include sessions in which tourism boards and destination representatives would present tourism recovery plans and trade support initiatives directly to industry participants.

Samir Hamadeh, CEO, Elevate World, said: “As part of our commitment to our beloved destination, the UAE, and all its tourism stakeholders, and our obligation towards our hotel partners, we have decided to launch this event, offering hotels and tour operators a unique opportunity of connecting, planning, discussing opportunities, and sharing ideas for a better future.”

According to the statement, all hotel and destination partners will be hosted from Elevate World’s Dubai headquarters, while international buyers will participate virtually from across global markets.
