ABU DHABI (ALETIHAD)

Aster DM Healthcare has unveiled a Dh1 billion project pipeline in the UAE, outlining a series of hospital developments, capacity expansions, and advanced care initiatives aimed at strengthening local healthcare infrastructure.

The project pipeline, announced at World Health Expo (WHX) 2026, includes the addition of new hospitals, expansion of existing facilities and the introduction of specialised centres across the UAE.

Aster said the investments are aligned with the Dubai Economic Agenda (D33) and are intended to make advanced, world-class healthcare services more accessible locally.

As part of the pipeline, Aster plans to open two new multi-specialty hospitals in Dubai, located in Studio City and Discovery Gardens. These facilities will add more than 250 beds to the group’s existing UAE capacity of around 920 beds.

In addition, the group announced a major expansion of Aster Hospital, Al Qusais, through a new annex building that will add 122 operational beds, strengthening its centre of excellence for oncology and other high-demand specialties. The Al Qusais expansion involves an investment of Dh300 million and is expected to be operational by the end of 2028.

The Dh1 billion pipeline also includes plans to establish the first private multi-organ transplant centre in Sharjah and the Northern Emirates, to be operated by Medcare Hospital in Sharjah, following regulatory approval. The centre will focus on delivering advanced organ transplant care through multidisciplinary clinical teams and specialised infrastructure.

In addition, Aster announced the launch of an Advanced Robotic Rehabilitation Centre in Dubai, building on its existing model in Muscat. The centre will introduce 18 specialised robotic devices and advanced rehabilitation technologies to support patients with neurological, spinal, stroke-related and mobility conditions, as well as a dedicated paediatric neurorehabilitation facility.

Commenting on the project pipeline, Dr Azad Moopen, Founder Chairman of Aster DM Healthcare, said the initiatives reflect the group’s long-term commitment to the UAE healthcare sector.

“Today’s announcement reflects our deep commitment to the UAE. Through these projects, we are strengthening local capacity, bringing advanced treatments closer to patients, and contributing to the UAE’s long-term vision of being a global hub for healthcare,” he said.

Alisha Moopen, Managing Director and Group Chief Executive Officer of Aster DM Healthcare, said the Dh1 billion pipeline goes beyond physical expansion.

“Our Dh1 billion pipeline is not only about adding beds or infrastructure; it is about enabling world-class care pathways locally, supported by technology, specialised talent and a connected patient experience,” she said.

She added that the planned hospitals, robotic surgery platforms, rehabilitation centre, and transplant facility are designed to address evolving patient needs and enhance clinical outcomes.
