ABU DHABI (ALETIHAD)
Aldar has announced the launch of Baccarat Residences Saadiyat, introducing the globally renowned Baccarat brand to Abu Dhabi’s residential market with an ultra-prime development in the Saadiyat Cultural District, according to a statement issued by the company.
The development marks the UAE residential debut of Baccarat, a French luxury Maison founded in 1764 and internationally recognised for its crystal craftsmanship and heritage of art de vivre.
The brand, long associated with bespoke crystal, lighting and decorative art used by royalty and cultural institutions worldwide, has in recent years expanded its identity into luxury hospitality and branded residences, translating its legacy into contemporary living environments.
Baccarat Residences Saadiyat will comprise 77 exclusive homes, including two- and three-bedroom apartments, four-bedroom sky villas and two signature penthouses. The residences will feature expansive layouts, refined interiors and panoramic views overlooking Guggenheim Abu Dhabi, Louvre Abu Dhabi and the Arabian Gulf, the statement said.
The project is the final residential launch within the Saadiyat Grove district and brings together Aldar’s development platform with Baccarat’s design philosophy, which emphasises craftsmanship, light and timeless elegance. Baccarat crystal elements are incorporated throughout shared spaces, reinforcing the Maison’s heritage within the architectural and interior narrative of the development.
The architecture has been designed by Sou Fujimoto Architects, marking the firm’s first residential project in the UAE. The design draws inspiration from the natural rhythms of Saadiyat Island’s shoreline, with flowing forms that connect the buildings to the surrounding coastal landscape, Aldar said.
Residents will have access to a curated suite of private amenities, including a residents-only spa and wellness centre, landscaped gardens with an infinity pool, concierge and valet services, and bespoke lifestyle offerings aligned with the Baccarat brand. The interiors have been designed by StudioPCH, offering a choice of light and dark finishes with limited bespoke customisation options.
Commenting on the launch, Jonathan Emery, Chief Executive Officer of Aldar Development, said “Baccarat Residences Saadiyat represents the pinnacle of luxury living within Saadiyat Cultural District, bringing together world-class architecture, global brand heritage and an unrivalled cultural setting. The residences offer discerning buyers not just a home, but a place in one of the most incredible destinations to be developed anywhere in the world.”
From the brand’s perspective, Barry Sternlicht, Founder and Chairman of Baccarat Hotels & Residences, said the Saadiyat development reflects Baccarat’s selective global expansion strategy, focusing on destinations that align with its heritage, craftsmanship and long-term cultural relevance.
Barry Sternlicht, Chairman of Baccarat Hotels & Residences, added that the residences are designed to translate the Maison’s centuries-old identity into a residential experience that blends artistry, light and refined living within a culturally significant setting.
