The Arab Forum for Financing and Investment in the Sports Sector commenced on Monday at the Pullman Hotel in Sharjah.

The event, a joint initiative of the Arab Administrative Development Organisation and the Sharjah Sports Council, aims to explore the potential benefits and challenges associated with sports investment and discuss strategies to bolster financing and investment in the sports industry.

The forum, which concludes on Wednesday, aims to underscore the pivotal role of sports investment in driving economic growth.

Attending the opening session were Hamad Ali Al Mahmoud, the representative of the Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Chairman of the Sharjah Economic Development Department; Issa Hilal Al-Hazami, Chairman of the Sharjah Sports Council; Abdulmalik Jani, Vice Chairman of the Council, board members, students, sports federation and club representatives, and council managers.

Al-Hazami underscored the significance of Sharjah hosting the forum and the relationship between sports and the economy through finance and investment. He emphasised the Council's unwavering commitment to realising the vision of H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, who envisions sports as a cornerstone of human development.

The forum addresses five primary themes, with the first day focusing on sports investment and marketing, sports investment and service providers, global sports legislation, and sports investment arbitration.
