His Eminence Dr. Ahmed El-Tayeb, Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, received a delegation from the Abrahamic Family House at the headquarters of Al-Azhar in Cairo, where both sides reaffirmed their continued commitment to promoting interfaith dialogue and peaceful coexistence.

The delegation was led by the President of the Abrahamic Family House, Mohamed Khalifa Al Mubarak, and the Acting Executive Director of Abrahamic Family House, Abdulla Al Shehhi.

Also present at the meeting were the Under-Secretary of Al-Azhar, Dr. Mohamed Abdel Rahman el-Dawiny, and the President of Al Azhar International Academy for Training Imams and Preachers, Professor Dr. Mohamed Al Mahrasawi.

Both parties discussed their efforts to foster a culture of dialogue, understanding and cooperation between various religions, as well as the impactful role the Abrahamic Family House has played as a centre for learning, dialogue, and religious practice since its inauguration in 2023.

The Abrahamic Family House expressed its gratitude for the leadership of the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar's role in enhancing respect and understanding between different religious communities.

As a token of appreciation, they presented a model of the Imam Ahmed El-Tayeb Mosque, which was named in honour of the Grand Imam, in recognition of his ongoing support for interfaith dialogue and peaceful coexistence.

President of the Abrahamic Family House, Mohamed Khalifa Al Mubarak, stated, "The Abrahamic Family House is dedicated to fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation of our shared human heritage through dialogue and constructive cooperation."

"Our meeting with Dr. Ahmed El-Tayeb reflects our commitment to promoting peace and understanding in our societies, and we are delighted to present him with this gift as a tribute to his leadership in supporting peaceful coexistence and the values of the Document on Human Fraternity on a global scale," he added.

The Abrahamic Family House embodies the principles of the Document on Human Fraternity, signed by His Eminence Dr. Ahmed El-Tayeb and His Holiness Pope Francis in Abu Dhabi in 2019, which advocates for global peace and the promotion of dialogue, mutual respect, and interfaith cooperation.

For his part, Al Shehhi said, "The Abrahamic Family House has evolved into a space for meaningful encounters where everyone can engage in dialogue, mutual learning, and understanding through our diverse programmes, partnerships, and initiatives that highlight shared human values and promote pathways to peaceful coexistence."

"The Imam Ahmed El-Tayeb Mosque has become a home to a thriving and vibrant community of worshippers, visitors, and families, and this meeting reaffirms our commitment to building bridges between diverse religious communities and promoting the culture of human fraternity internationally," he added.
