UAE airlines are cancelling flights to and from Israel, Jordan, and Lebanon due to escalating tensions in the Middle East.

Wizz Air Abu Dhabi has halted all flights to Israel and Jordan amid the increasingly tense situation in the area. Flights to and from Israel and Jordan were called off by the airline from Saturday to Monday. In this timeframe, a flight from Vilnius that was planned for Saturday was also cancelled.

Flights from the UAE to Jordan, Lebanon, and Israel are currently on hold, as well as several connections from Continental Europe.

The Wizz Air website said: “Wizz Air regrets the inconvenience caused to the passengers due to the current situation and is offering affected customers a 120 per cent refund in Wizz credits, a full refund in the original form of payment or free rebooking options.”

Etihad Airways has also decided to suspend flights from Abu Dhabi to Tel Aviv on Tuesday and Thursday. The flights EY595 scheduled from Abu Dhabi Zayed International Airport to Tel Aviv Ben Gurion International Airport on August 6 and August 8 have been called off. The flight EY596 returning from Tel Aviv to Abu Dhabi on those days has also been cancelled.

The flight suspensions come as tensions increase between Israel and Hezbollah, with airlines avoiding Iranian and Lebanese airspace and cancelling flights to Israel and Lebanon due to fears of conflict following the recent high-profile killings.

Meanwhile, Dubai-based Emirates airline said on Monday that three flights to Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh, were cancelled due to the ongoing turmoil in the country, including the ones scheduled for August 5 and 6.

The airline mentioned that Flights EK58, EK584, and EK585 from Dubai to Dhaka have been called off.

Emirates stated that they are closely monitoring the situation, expressing regret for the inconvenience caused to passengers.
Similarly, flydubai has halted flights to Dhaka and Chattogram in Bangladesh.

The website of flydubai said: “Flights to Dhaka Airport and Chattogram Airport will not be operating up to August 7. We are still closely monitoring the situation.”

Also, multiple Indian airlines, such as Air India and IndiGo, have halted all planned flights to Bangladesh because of the unstable situation.
